Thanks for the words guys. I'll admit it that I am lucky boy to get to go to this event. The girls are like cupie dolls on acid. They know how to pose and are hard to catch off-guard. I'll try to post more soon. Anna, I looked for you at the Mansion, but you must have had the day off or something. I want all of you to make a concerted effort to go to the Mansion at some point and have fun.

Thank you for the comments. Please support your local ring card girl. The lighting in these places really varies. At one venue I'll be shooting 800 and the next, 1600 or higher. I wish the promoters would bring lights. ESPN usually does a really nice job. Adam, I like your photo, but the girl's arm is distracting. I would like to see the next frame you shot in the sequence. All of you guys need to go to the fights and shoot. You'll love it! Stay cool, Paul.

Shuey--
This is pretty sic. I really like the folds in the rocks and the way that it is captured. Very femine and surreal. There's some real talent in your work.

I really appreciate the comments. The bout was an excellent one and I hope that you guys had the opportunity to witness it. There weren't any knockdowns, but both men were staggered. This punch put Vitali on stupid street for a couple of seconds but he recouped. This was the biggest fight that I've ever covered. I can't wait for the rematch.

Thank you for the comment, Deb. I don't know what it is, but tennis is a lot of fun to shoot. I liked your strawberry picture. Good macro.

Thanks for the words, Carl. I checked out your portfolio and you have some very interesting things in the making. I am especially impressed with your ability to capture the seemingly insignificant and make it important. Keep shooting.

Gregory--
Thank you for the words. If you ever get the chance, shoot a boxing match, your motor drive will singe. Lucky dog shooting Monterrey and Brautigan/Steinbeck country.

Hi Kris--
Thanks for the comment. This is one of my better photographs of this little girl. She is a doll and I am proud to be her "uncle." I have know her father for almost 30 years. Her father and I have been best friends for 25 of those 30 years. On another note, your stuff is really starting to go richter. I like it. Some of the most original stuff out there.

Thanks for the comments. I was down the third base line. With the 600, I have to be a little farther back. I also have to do a lot of waiting when I shoot baseball--as any other photographer will tell you. Every once in a while though, you get to the opportunity to have some good action in baseball. feel free to look at my portfolio and website at www.yellowfinphoto.photoreflect.com and let me know what you think.

Good action, critical moment, intensity on the face, good job. The only critic is the headless girl in the background. If you can, crop from the bottom up.

I enjoy the softness of this photo. It is very sexy yet not in your face. Really good angle. The only thing is, I personally would have liked to have seen her other eye a little more open.

I like the photo and the composition but I would have liked to have seen you get a little closer to the image and shoot in an up mode. Good strangeness.

First of all, thank you for all the kind words. I really appreciate them. Boxing photography is one of the most action filled of all the sports. It is especially fun shooting two evenly matched pugilists. Ben, email me at paulgallegos6@hotmail.com and I'll correspond with you.

Thank you very much for the words. I really have a fun time shooting the San Diego Gulls. They leave everything on the ice. I got to the game on Sunday. 10 second into the game, two guys started beating each other's face to a pulp. I hadn't even put my hat back on from the National Anthem. Crazy sport, but I love it.

Thank you guys so much for the kind words. This sport is so wild and raw that it reminds me of shootouts at the OK Corral. Every game is like a pinball machine. The players are there because they love to play. Maybe one out of the league will make enough of an impact to advance to the NFL, but most are living out their dreams. 200 dollars a game to each player. 250 if they win. There is incentive to play your heart out. During the week you can see these guys at their day jobs--Home Depot, Postal worker, Broker, etc. These guys are very easy to approach. The fans love them. It's a lot of fun!

Thanks for the comments guys. I really love to shoot sports. Go out and shoot a high school game. The kids really appreciate it. You would not believe how much fun it is.

Thanks for the comment guys. I don't know, I kind of like the way the angles are in the picture. I realize that it is a little tight on the top, but I didn't want to lose the foot on the bottom crop. It's a 5x7 crop so I didn't want to lose too much.

Heineken has always been too skunky for me, but I really like the creative angle and the lighting. Try Pabst Blue Ribbon-you know that it was voted America's best beer in 1893. Remember what Dennis Hopper had to say about Heineken in Blue Velvet!
