I don't think there's anything wrong with the colours or contrast: I think it lends a dream-like quality to the whole thing. I love her red cap!
It might be better without the slightly distracting swan, and also a crop of the top half inch or so to get rid of the white sky: without it, it makes the woods seem thicker and the scene more closed off from the world and reality. I really like the mood here a lot, though: fabulous location and a great picture!

Wow!! I'm VERY jealous of the location! The colours, the light, the details: everything is just made for the camera! And you've capturing it flawlessly.
Great shot!

The strong lines really make this shot for me. Your choice of toning gives the contrast of black and white but allows some of the warmth to remain: a good choice. Maybe that cloud is a little distracting, but I like this a lot. Shame there wasn't a handy person walking by to leave a long shadow!

Great find!! Her position is perfect, and the sky is just right for this type of shot: indistinct, mysterious.
I can't help thinking that a tighter focus on the angel would have helped. It would have knocked the background out of focus and stopped it competing for attention with the main subject: the twon in the bottom left seems a little of a distraction, as does the roof tiles below her.
Nevertheless, well done for finding a great location. The bell tower works as a background piece too. Nice job :)

Really nice - excellent, in fact. Colours, framing, the square images: everything works well together. You've captured the details in the changes in colour and texture perfectly. I like this a lot.
Many congratulations!

You know, I'm not normally the biggest fan of photoart, but I love the vibrancy and the quality of the image here. Something about it makes it seem spontaneous rather than consciously worked on: the elements work really well together, and you could not have chosen a better face for the central focus!
Great stuff!

Thank you both very much - the composition and getting enough of the Minster in frame was trciky given that my camera really wasn't made for the job! Hence lying on the ground as a potential source of amusement for all the tourists standing just out of frame :)

There's something about masks... You have exactly the right background for this: it compliments the muted browns so well. Somehow, the inherently peaceful still-life feel and the slightly sinister contortions of the mask's face work really well together for me.
I like this a lot :) And thanks for your comment :)

Very nicely framed, and I especially like the detail in the hammer and stonework. Maybe a bit more light on his face would help allow a bit more connection between the viewer and the subject, as would a way to see just what it is that he is hand making.
Good shot all the same :)

I like this a lot: it's the right combination of model and location, I think. Composition is perfect: the panoramic ratio was completely the right choice, and the climbing plant on the right it perfectly placed. I love the whites of her eyes.
I can't help but think that it would be more effective in full black and white, although the hints of colour seem to be something of a personal touch judging from some of your other pictures, and I'd hate to say lose your personality. I think that a strong black and white only might help this picture though.
Nice work!

Hahaha! Great shot, and as you say, a perfect image of childhood. The subtle, but not featureless, background really helps too, but the attention is always on the eyes and the expression, as it ought to be.
Great picture!

I see your problem - I think the crop works best, as it adds intimacy and a sense of a shared secret to the photo (the viewer is simultaneously let in close to the whispered secret but kept apart by the medium and the girl's knowing look). It's a shame that the tight crop means losing the 'I love CS' scribbled on the whispering girl's arm, which is perfect for the situation and the shot.
Great capture - I really like this a lot. I'm not sure on the 100% white background, but then it does help focus attention where it should be, which is on those expressions which are priceless!

Yes: I like this a lot. The blues are amazing, and the subtle changes in focus from icicle to icicle. I only wish it was bigger so I could enjoy it more!!
It's a shame Scotland isn't forecast a proper winter this year: that's really inspiring! Many congratulations.

I love the textures here, and the narrow crop. Those yellows are just right too. I wonder if a little less contrast or harsh whites would make it a little easier on the eye, but I really like the details.

You've definitely captured the moment here - focus is perfect, especially in that light. It's a shame that the street lights start at the level of the fire, but it looks like there was little you could do about that.
Looks like it was a good performance :)

I agree with Bijit: touch more light on the house (or else a full silhouette) might be beneficial. But the sky more than makes up for that - you picked the right time for the natural light :)

Brilliant stuff! Clarity is perfect, and I think black and white was a good choice here. Its a shame about the little bit of detail along from figures (in the staircase), which are a little distracting. But that's a minor thing: this is a very well taken photography :)

Great colours and detail in the central portion. I think having the tip of the leaf closest to camera in focus would have helped, though: the focus seems a bit far back for me.
Wish the leaves looked like that near me: east Scotland has skipped autumn and gone straight to winter this year!!

Spectacular building! I wonder what it would look like it full colour: in this black and white, it has a tendency to turn into the same dark to mid-grey - letting the colour in might give it a little more personality.
All the best :)

Haha - good title :)
I like this: the depth of field is just right. I can't help thinking that the bright white in the far background is rather distracting - it makes the whole of the rest of imnage seem much greyer in comparison. Perhaps greater contrast would also help.
A good find nonethless :)

Definitely enigmatic: its got my imagination going as to what is in those shadows! The lack of information in the picture really helps build up an atmosphere and draws the eye back and around the little glimpses of light.
