I love the way you got in fairly close and placed the bg hills but I would like to made a few suggestions as to how to improve because this has so much potential. The sharpness could be improved a little - did you use a tripod? What time of day did you shoot, it looks like harsh sunlight and featureless sky, maybe very early evening or morning would be better, the haze is affecting your image quality as well - I dont know if the HP850 can take filters, but both a polarizer and a uv haze filter would help. anyhow, I like what you tried to do here, good stuff!

I love this image, taken from a great vantage point, which emphasizes the child's wonderful interaction with the koi, enhanced by the precise moment you shot - with the boy's outstretched arm. The bright colors stand out nicely, I really like this!

I quite like the ps work here Miguel - it looks to me like you had a great image to start with, and the softness works. Being familiar with your work, I have a feeling I would like the original as well. It's a great capture, and well composed with the soft grasses in the foreground.

Very intense image! Intensity is enhanced by the angle you chose, a striking composition indeed, the contrast and of course, the vivid color. I love how the image resembles torches flickering away...

This is outstanding work - it's always a pleasure to stop by this portfolio. I appreciate not only the softness of the water, the soft calming colors, but the balance in this photo - meticulous composition.

I will soon be travelling to some of these same eastern locations Kenneth, I hope to get images even half as beautiful - and I better get that alarm clock set as well!

Your uploads and commenting are missed here!

The angle of the tree makes this image to me - altho there is a little artifacting in the sky that is distracting. nice work.

It looks to me like you found a wonderful patchwork of light and shades of green, but its greatly lacking dof. A scenic like this should be in sharp focus from front to back so we can appreciate the interplay of color and light patterns. I am making the assumption that the pattern is the intention of the image.
With the equipment you are using, a tripod, a polarizer, and stop down as much as possible - you should be able to get a fantastic shot of this.

Ingrid, this is a very pleasing image to the eye.
I quite like the hint of detail in the bg - the fog creates a very subtle mood.
I like how you composed this image, balancing the image very nicely. Well done fg interest as well.

I suppose my only knit would be that it could be a little sharper.

whoa this is beautiful Ronnie - super sharp, amazing detail, great color, and well composed. The thumbnail does not do it justice, but when larger, just pops out! good work, and congrats on the EC

thnx to Kim to bringing this up in recent comments as I had missed it earlier. Very nice, the colors are incredible and what a find - I love how the chameleon is looking out of the frame and keeps us guessing as to what he is looking at. nice work as always Vince.

Beautiful image Cristiano - the light is exceptional, providing a warm illumination of the buildings, and great contrasting colors throughout. A beautiful Venice scene - well composed.

and...one is never mad to invest in another lens - you will love the super wide - looking forward to seeing some uploads from it.

Kaj - this is a beautiful image, so serene and peaceful, lovely soft muted color and a damn perfect composition. The fence line leading into the image gives a wonder perspective and balance to the image, altho I find it just a tad harsh compared to the softness and mood of the image (just a small nit to me) I like this very much.

well worth the loss of sleep when you get this type of beautiful color Brett. You achieved great saturation, nice reflections, and have a nice composition. I wish the image was a little sharper however - is the slide sharper?
anyhow, welcome to usefilm and look forward to seeing more of your work!

Gorgeous results you achieved Miguel - this is very soft muted colors, and well composed with the curvature of the highway - well done. It has appealed to my emotions - I am finding myself wanting to walk down this winding road and all its beauty surrounding it.

I can see why this is today's top photo - its beautiful, nice contrasts and the haze and fog adds such a mood. I don't often comment on your work, but I always look and do enjoy your portfolio a great deal - you have a way with light indeed.

Ian, this is gorgeous, wonderfully composed and incredible colors. I love the foreground grasses and how the old building is just nestled in there. To me, the image works, it has a romantic feel to it, and since you werent able to get a razor sharp shot, I would accentuate the softness, perhaps by printing it twice. I have seen this done and the results are fantastic when softness is appropriate for the scene. well done.

Hi Lorenzo, I like this of course, being addicted to storms. At first I was thinking the crop was a little tight, but I think it works, adds to the tension of the looming cloud. Its a dramatic image, beautiful setting, and a gorgeous light falling on the scene. Good job with the ps work as well...

I don't think it matters how much a subject has been done before, it can always be done better and/or different. in other words: I like this Alisa, it is a departure from your usual work that I have come to recognize instantly, but well done. You have captured the mood very well, fog is way up there close to storms in terms of favorites.

Very cool Eric - wonderful experimenting that paid off. Not your typical photo, and I like it. Only suggestion is that I would have liked to see your camera angle out to the right a little, so that there was just a wee bit more space in front of him.

very dramatic image Steven, I like the tension added to it by the angle you shot at (giving a feeling of hiding in the crop away from the impending storminess) The high contrast adds to the drama of the clouds, but its almost a little too contrasty (highlights are close to being overexposed and loss of detail in shadows).

haha, my dog never stops doing this either!
Well captured, I like the angle you shot this from (people often forget to get down low when shooting pets or children). and of course, the dramatic clouds did grab my attention.

Beautiful work Cristiano - not your typical sunset image for sure - nicely exposed with great contrast and yet a softness to the image. Nicely detailed sun rays as well.

I absolutely love the soft mood of this image, good use of long exposure. The soft colors suit the image beautifully as well. I am wondering how the image would look however without the sand in the fg or much less of it, I scrolled down and quite liked the effect as it allows our eye to enjoy more fully the soft water and color of the image. I would like to see a straight horizon line as well, easy enough to fix however.

Very nicely done Tom - the soft flow of curves, enhanced by the drifting fog and the warm light, creates such tranquility in the image - well done exposure and composition! There is a perfect amount of detail in the foreground as well.
