Hi Thomas, thanks so much for your comments .. as for Plus-X it is a smoother film in terms of tone capable of very delicate distinctions of tones .. contrast is medium, but that good for days when the range of light is very broad and great for printing (no matter the method, silver or digital) .. it's a lovely film, hard to pin down .. well worth a try!

on many levels this is a beautiful portrait .. yes, herface is beautiful and that is part of this wonderful image .. but the image is truly beautiful as well .. it's a lovely frame .. lovely tones and so in keeping with her beauty .. Thank you Ann, yep, most of my images were shot from the hip .. just don't seem to have time to look through the viewfinder -- i have lot's of writings about the subject, some published in New York Arts Magazine .. but in the end, it's "knowing the frame" as i call it .. after a while you just know where it is .. my best to you, john

Thank you Karen, yes the little shadow is me .. and i too wondered about the peace sign - it's likely that she was "making a point" about something to her friend or to someone on a cell phone - it's amazing what body language people pull off when talking passionaltely

this is one image where the title plays an important roll - something about this image (i have seen it twice now) that i really like .. very well thought out and seen .. it does have a feeling attached to it and it's strong - like a memory or "look back in time" feeling ..
