Nicole:
Thank you for your kind comments. I sometimes use borders from scratch but in this case it was Photoframe 4 plug in from OnOne Software

Thank you for your comments. I love the A900 and I used to be a Nikon guy.

Thank you for your kind comments. Indeed, I was with a Navajo guide and yes I was set up waiting. Not only waiting but taking different shots every 30 secs or so using different apertures etc. Sometimes I will shoot 40-50 shots (even with film) in order to get one good one. But such is the nature of the beast.

Thanks for the comments. Yes I have made the move. Ottawa for now is home base. I am looking at Nanaimo, BC and have asked a Real Estate agent to look around for us for a potential fall move.
Cheers

Well done. Very natural and relaxed pose. Adds realism and 3D to the overall photo.

An excellent image of an area that I have visited many times. I know how hard it is to get it just right. And you did on this one.

No this is not HDR. I made use of Grad ND and Pol filters and bracketed the shots. Thank you for your kind comments.

P.S. Would u happen to have been a Canadian military brat to be born in Colorado Springs? I expect to leave the Springs for Ottawa within a year.

Thank you. Yes I reposted as when I saw the comments , I went back and looked what was the problem and indeed, my levels were a bit too low. So as u can see, I do pay attention to comments received in order to become better at my passion.

Thank you for your comments. The Hasselblad 503CW is a medium format (6x6cm) and for me is the best of the film and digital.

No need to apologize. Yes I do use the zone system for my lanscapes/nature shots and use the Gossen Starlite meter. It is great for zone mapping.

Thank you for your kind remarks. I am using a Nikon Super Coolsan 8000ED film scanner to scan my medium format negatives/slides taken by my Hassy 501CM medium format. I am and remain so extremely happy with it eventhough there is now a 9000 model out.

THank you for your comments. I now mostly use 100UC for landscapes or Velvia 100. For portraits, I use the Portra series.

Thank you for your kind comments. WRT metering procedures, I use the Ansel Adams ZOne system (yes it works for color as well) Depending whether I am shooting slide or film, my first light meter take is the brightest (slide) or darkest point (film) in my picture. Then for slides I will push the readind to a level 7 or 7.5 and film for a level 2.5 or 3 (on a scale of 10) Then I will take a series of light meter shots at the high end of the picture with one take the darkest (for slides or take a series at the darker end of the image with one at the lightest point for film. After that my meter tells me what EV to set for a level 5 shot. Takes about five to 10 minutes to take but it is worth it.
