Good job!

The central image is in the center of the photo. Would the composition be better if it was off center? I think I would like a vertical shot with the wing at far top. What do you think?

Hi Judi,
Sorry for not responding, but I seem so busy! I don't know how that can be, since I really don't do anything. I did just post my 26 things entries. What a job!
Thanks for the help on the photo. I need to get back to my photoshop education. I did try a couple of other straighten projects and it worked. Don't know why my efforts failed on this photo, but it failed to straighten regardless of direction I moved the cursor.
My URL for 26 things is http://fotobydave.fotopages.com?167182

Thanks for your comments. I agree that my firework shots are not as good as I would like. I have lots of excuses but I should have practiced with my equipement the night before. Perhaps the strangest thing that happened was the open switch on the cable release locked on and I did not know it. The camera ceased to work for sometime till I pull out the cable release and stopped using it. I figured it out in the daylight within a few seconds.

I think I would crop off some of the tree, maybe make it a square photo. I think the mass of tree draws you eye away from the performer.

Hi Judi, Go ahead and fix this image. I tried again and I need more instruction on correcting this type of problem. I use the crop tool but it does not want to turn the right way no matter what I do. I have some mini tips on this but did not look them up.
Thanks for the help!

Hi Judi, Thanks for the comment. I did notice the slant in the horizontal after I got home and tried to fix it in photoshop. Once the horizontal was correcte, I had slanted trees
Guess I will try and retake this image. I thought the fence and trees in front of the lake was interesting.

This is a great shot! I have been to Montauk point and it is loooong way out from the city. I like the perspective and the clouds and ... just about everything.

On the scanner, check www.dcresource.com. Seems like they do not recommend any flat bed scanner for film. I could not find the Epson 1200 scanner in my B&H catalog so just assume it is a flat bed. The one they recommend is a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual III for film and slides. The price seems to be around $300 in US.
I am not sure I should be so helpful ... your photos are so good ... not sure I will ever compete.

Here is my attempt to show how stupid I am, but I would try to separate the dog from the background. Seems the dog blends into the background too much. Either a slight change in the color ... maybe a little lighter or a light on the background. I know the little guys don't always want to sit while you fiddle with the lights.
My dog puts this stupid expression that gives the impression "Why are you pointing that thing at me?" and none of the photos are worth much.

You did a very good job. I took some photos at the St Louis Balloon race ... not nearly as large as the Albuquerque event that you may wish to compare. There has been several other balloon photos over the past few months. I think it is a great subject and a lot of fun to shoot! Some day I hope to join you in Albuquerque!
Post more of your work.

Sarah, I am curious how you did this? You look too relaxed to have pushed the shutter and run to get into the picture.
It is a beautiful photo. I have tried to decide the color of your hair. I think red! Photoshop would definitely fun!

My mama told me if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything! So I like the color matched border ... the small yellow with the wide green complements the sponges.
Also, I rarely comment on photos that don't include specs.... especially digital cameras.

I thought I had commented on this photo but don't see it. You could have tried flash fill-in. Some cameras do a pretty good job and others seem to give hot spots. How about toning down the contrast in photoshop?

What an attractive photo! What an attractive model! The crispness of the background suggest that it was sharpened. I studied the photo for a while to determine if it was a composite. Perhaps you could tell a little on how you made this photo?

This photo is interesting but what is it? After looking at it for a while, I guess it is fog over water. I wonder if the soft almost blur of the fog is due to the long exposure or the way it was? It is a an excellant shot.
