The B&W treatment is appropriate. I have been wondering lately if B&W in the camera may be better than converted afterwards in post. Have you had experience with this.

What's not to like? You got more drama in the skies and the image is lighter and more detailed. My eye is really drawn in by the light from the horizon and it stays longer in the image. Maybe the saturation can be toned down a tad but that is a personal setting. I like this. Regards Ron.

You really lifted some tones to get the details that you got here Eb. I'd try some more blending, perhaps HDR processing to lift even more. I do like the sky but I think that their is more lost detail to recover in the building the dock and the boat. Regards Ron.
