Jason,
My orchidee is a cross between an orchid but I do not know the other flower. I bought it about 10 years ago and twice a year it goes mad and produces about 50 or so flowers over several months. Each flower has 5 or six petals on the underside that look like stems. I've attached another photo which perhaps gives you a better idea.

What a wonderful scene you've managed to capture. I love the reflection of the sun in the water and the small boat/ buoy on the left hand side which adds a little bit of interest in a large expanse of water.

Lovely colour shades you've managed to capture. I always find SL has a huge variety to offer the photographer.

Thanks for your kind comments on my pictures.

Linn, looking at your crop I prefer it to mine as it concentrates much more on the flower. I also hadn't noticed the white petal before.
Thanks for your help

I love the colours, Linn. Great capture - but I haven't seen a bad photo from you yet .
The frame is just perfect for the flower.

Great capture, Jon. It's only a shame the butterfly is missing a bit of his right wing. But the detail and colours are excellent.

An excellent and detailed shot, Brendon. Definately worth the price of the mosquitos IMO.

Excellent capture, Lori. It truly is a beautiful specimen.
How did you manage not to get any glass reflection?

Good capture of a beautiful bird. Having the dark background contrasts well with the white swan.
Great reflection too.

Gorgeous colours Ken. And I love the birds. I think they add a bit more interest to the lower half of the picture.

Very good capture, Graham. The light hitting the back makes the colours look irridescent. Superb detail.

Great macro with sharp detail. I love the pinky red colour and think the green background makes a good contrast.

Good composition, Matthew and I love the colours. Have just read your bio and like you I am also learning. Normally for compositions like this I take at least two shots - one focusing on the sky and one on the trees, then I also use the exposure compensation on the camera (something I'm just getting into!).
Thanks for your comments on my pictures.

I love then angle and the way you've captured the light hitting the ironwork so that the different colours are visible.
Very good contrasting between light and shadow.

Excellent capture with good detail and a reflection to top it off. I've tried so many times to take photos of swans as they're magnificent creatures, but so far my results are not worth publishing.
Well done.
