Hi Judi - it was a pleasure to share your work with Toni. I really do love that image - so well done. In fact, I love all your images, but I am particulaly fond of the fantasy ones. And how nice to find another Aussie photographer...Keep the fantasy coming, and thanks for the comment.

Hi Antonia - congrats on the award. You have captured a truly magical image here- a stolen moment in faerie. I love it that she has the look of the nature child about her.

I wish I was an articulate enough person to describe how your images make me feel. I am not, so I am left with just one word "stunning"

Thank you for the comment Carlos - as you might have guessed I have an emotional attachment to this image. Often my attachment blurs my judgement, and I tend to read too much into an image. Thank you for appreciating it as I do. I had hoped that this was an image with universal appeal, not just one in which a mother revels.

Yes Tanya - 1 gaussian blur layer plus a second gaussian blur layer in conjunction with a multiply blend mode. And I use layer masks to isolate the effects to where I want it. Thanks for commenting!

I have done quite a few of these shots of pregnant women. THey work so well. I love it that she has bare feet - adds a certain sensuality to the image. THe square format works fine. Your exposure here is perfect, and her gaze leading out the window makes you think of what is to come.

Wonderful - I would have cropped the 2 bottom planks off because the blur is a bit unsettling. But otherwise this is a fantastic image with good subtle burning to control the direction of the viewer's gaze

Wonderful portrait - beautiful colouring - like the backdrop a lot. The bra thing is a little distracting. Great pose too - I really like the tilt of her head here.

A beautiful simple scene. I think it would succeed even without the diffuse glow, but it sure gives it something different. Composition is perfect. Love the weighty sky.

Hoe did you get the gulls to position themselves so perfectly?
Top photo - beautiful light and composition - magical soft colour.

Hi Corrie - I took the image probably at f5.6. In photoshop I made a copy of the original layer & applied a gaussian blur of about 8. Then I remove the blur from the areas that I want to remain sharp. I really like the effect - glad you do too.

Hi Mitchell - I think this is a way better image than the last one in terms of subtlety in the lighting. It is not as heavyhanded and the bird does not have a halo of light, therefore does not look contrived. This is the best so far in this series, a truly beautiful image.

Wonderful - I like it a lot. Unusual composition, great lines, some people for interest and a bird to balance the weight of the photo. Darn it, couldn't it fly just a little bit lower?

Hi Corrie - thanks for the comment. It is a simple matter of copy & pasting them into the image, and adding a layer mask to remove unwanted bits. The wings are photographed separately. I have a whole library of wing negs.

Brilliant work - you have great skills. The texture and tones here are just fantastic & the content is ...well, intriguing to say the least. I am out of coffee this morning. Wish I was the guy in the pic

This is beautiful! Great tones, and a very unusual perspective. She looks a little mistrusting, it adds interest to the photo.
