Carlos,
The difference is pretty big... the most obvious thing is that the fish eye really starts to distort your horizons. Straight lines at the edge of the frame begin to curve the further out they are.
The other is that the field of view is much larger the 18mm gives me somewhere around 100 degrees... the 15mm gives me 180...
Keep in mind that this is with a full 35mm SLR... on my DLSR I get less than that.
Peace, Toby

Nice perspective, I like the rail in the foreground. Tobiah, I would like to ask you how big is the difference between a 15mm fisheye and 17 or 18mm lens on the rebel. Like the field, you can go much more closer to the subject? Thanks, Carlos.

Rodger,
Thanks a bunch for looking! Yeah.. I've been getting some really odd stuff lately. Not sure why. My lighting techniques lends alot of (forgive me for saying this) "unknowledgeable photogs" to believe that I'm just really good at photoshop. The truth is that I'm work hard to get my flashes synced up and powered up just right and in the right places to make things look dynamic and "pop". If you like what I'm doing... check out the community at www.agroism.com. There is a whole army of guys doing (somewhat) the same thing. Some better than others, but there is a whole action sports movement.
Cheers, Toby

Yes, and NOSE and EYES! Great nostrils. I once foolishly told a girlfriend, when she asked me what I thought was her most beautiful feature, "Your nostrils." She didn't get the joke, alas. But it was worth it to see the look on her face as she tried to work it out...

Aha! I see you like fisheye lenses (me too). But I don't think I would have let my nice bulbous lens get within such close reach of those sticky fingers! Brave--and an excellent shot.

I think Koray assumed this was photo art, with the image of the bike pulled in from somewhere else. As a real-life photo of something that actually happened it's amazing. Hey, maybe he wasn't a trespasser, but was just taking a short cut home? I'm surprised that 1/250th could freeze the action (though I suppose it could have been excellent timing when motion was at its slowest). And depth of focus is pretty good for the aperture you used. I must admit I thought it was photo art, too, until I read your comment. By the way, you have had some really odd comments, haven't you? I very rarely rate comments but I had to use the "Abuse" on one just now. Who needs that kind of negativity?

Dave,
Thanks man... I appreciate the input. Overuse the saturation. I will agree that I due boost it a tad... 10 points max at any time. I'll tink about that a little more from here on out.
I guess what really gets me about this photo is the trick itself. I'm not sure the timing is right or that the "style" is spot on. Its a hard trick on a steep bank, but I'm not sure that comes through.
I also think that I blew out the highlights a little here. I've been having trouble with one of my flashes and its been hard to get things just so.
I'll take some time to give you my input as well.
Thanks Dave.
Peace!

You asked for it. I think you over use the saturation sometimes. The photo could also be framed better, one thing I always remeber from school is a picture should make the eyes move around and never get stuck. My eyes get stuck on the shoes in this one. Please take the time to give me some critiques.

I'm not used to comment in a sarcastic way other people's pictures -especially in a negative meaning!- cos i think that each artist has the freedom to do what he feels. This will produce a huge idea-pool for all those people who look for more and more creative inputs! [like i do]
!no problema! ;D

David,
Not sure what you're trying to get at here. Yes, the sign said no tresspassing, but do you not like the photo? Do you not like the exposure or the lighting or the composition? Or do you just not like the fact that we're being hooligans here? I just framed in the sign becuase I found it ironic and a good juxtaposition.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers, Toby

Wayne,
This just kinda worked out like this. I'm not sure how or why to tell you the truth. I had two flashes running, and its not like the light of the flash just stops dead in its tracks... I think it may have to do with the shutter curtain. maybe just happened to be a tad slow on this one.... who knows.
Cheers, Toby
