Nicely done waterfall. I think it needs no perspective, the scale is evident without the girl. Not that she is distracting in any way, that was just my initial thought.

I do agree, thought, lighting on the girl is superb.

Best wishes,
Dave

Hi James,

I prefer this one. I think you succeeded well in expressing speed here and at the same time the subject is sharp enough. Very dynamic view and you really caught the right moment. Compliments !

Nice simple subject and good sidelight to bring out the texture - it's fitting. The one thing I notice is that this doesn't look sharp to me - the texture in the hinge especially. Is this a crop way in on a much wider file? If so, shoot closer, If not, try applying some sharpening and see if that might help.

Hi James,
Beautiful horse! Lovely composition, you have caught a wonderful alert expession on his gorgeous face. I do tend to agree with Amy, a little more shoulder would have been nice, and for me personally, I would have liked a little more light so I could see the ears and mane a smidgeon clearer.

Hi James,
Nice use of textures and shapes in this shot, the wood grain flowing down the picture with the ovalish shape of the hinge cutting across plus the different tones of brown make it a very interesting photo, Well Done!!

I have some photos I'd like to post - time is now a factor. I didn't do much the show season of 2006 as I spent most of it pregnant. I posted a trial photo of my son. I've never really done any people portraits really and my husband keeps telling me I should do more. I just don't even feel like I know what I'm doing. But, horses and children - both unpredictable - I should be able to do that. It is more the technical stuff I'm worried about (but I worry about that all the time). How is your new son?

Hi Amy! I was wondering where you went. I've been off of this site for a while as well.

I'm using an Olympus P400 but it is not a great "field" printer. I need to update my website because I've stopped processing on-site. I've found a web-site that lets me post quickly and they process my orders through their credit card system, etc.

Do I like the Olympus? Sure...just not in an uncontrolled atmosphere.
