Spring moon???? Good Me, man! Ya out of touch with reality? Or are ya livin' on the other side of the Earth???? Spring moon my back-side... it is nigh on winter........ I do like this, though... maybe when I sober up... I will like it even more.

Aah, the stamps on fabric return! The "silent" and washed ou contours do add so much to this again, Ian! Especially the top seems to me... much like a superimposition pattern of many individual wave sources.

BTW, could you imagine making that to a subject of study?

Cheers!

Well, Ian, under the currect light condition in my flat and under the currect adjustments iof my screen, I don't see much more than a mainly dark surface with some few very subtle textures on it. I closed the windows, I turned the luminosity of my scree to the max, but still I see not much more. I miss the point here.

Cheers!

I still find your work amazing Ian. In an attempt to tap the spirit space that I imagine you wander in I have just posted a work that was partially inspired by you and the foggy mists we see in your work. That is hard to do in desert.

best wishes
John

Oh exactly! Yes i can see that.
In saying layers I'm thinking foreground, mid and background. easy to keep whatever the middle is still but I'm thinking sometimes to my eyes there's a moving middle and still back and fore.
I know it's in camera, I'm flummoxed by it that's all.

Actually, I don't think you'll find too many layers in Louise's work. I think it's still the case that nearly all her images are produced in camera, with one shot. It certainly was a few years back when she embarked on the path she is now on. I don't think she likes Photoshopping much.

I was in a Goodwill store today… hmmm… “Goodwill” stores are where people drop off things they no longer value and other people (Like me) go in and hunt for bargains. I found 2 Les Paul record albums for .99 cents!!!! I was actually looking for a tie (knecktie) for the oldest boy’s wedding in 5 days… and I saw a globe on a stand. I spun and tilted it and looked… you N-Z’Landers are Waaaaaaayyyy down there, aren’t ya???? I have several places I want to see before I die… and N’Zea-land was not very high on my list… but after spinning the globe and looking…. I gotta visit yer part of the world.

as usual reality checkers are left out altogether and we are drawn into the underworld of the overworld.. philosophy aside a splendid shot.. philosophy thrown in and the image takes on mass.. density and intrigue which drives up a desire to see more

Thanks Steve, and thanks for the link (rare to get someone not referncing themselves. She's a beaut, and I see our methods are the same (but for the life of me can't work out how she's getting some of those layers).
