hello! it is a 2 layers mix, the man and the sea and an eroded wall!
i am glad you like the dresden dolls band, cabaret has a revival though they mix several elements. this band gathers masses in their gigs right now!! have you seen their site?? it is a dolls house!! kisses

once upon a time the old man took his walk by the sea: the last fish caught, the last love drowned, the last hope forgotten
:))
but!...
then, he remembered... he tried to remember, better to say. and so he takes his walk by the sea each morning, may it be raining or he sun shining.
and, one fine day, there willcome a girl with a cam: she also missing a remembrance of a dream.

Thank you!!I used for the image background a stone surface eroded by time and turned to B&W, then the overlay layer option of Photoshop.

Hi Mary,
An interesting use of the textured layer to create a dream-like image.
A trick I picked up from Fadel J to make some individual layers of texture was to take some shots of wet paper towel that has been bunched up tight and left to dry. Then unfold it and take the shots with light behind the paper.
