I have occasionally thought of trying to photograph my bike, but each time I decide to give it a go I realise that the cleaning involved would make it a massive task!
Here, with the benefit of a (beautiful!) new bike, you have captured some wonderful detail and a crisp metallic feel.
I'm also interested in the performance of this lens - and this looks just fine to me! Though I see that to get this DOF you've had to use a very slow shutter.
(Just spotted the date on this one. Well, you've been away a while!)

Great one, Heiko. Did you compose the original this way or did you crop it? Either way, the composition is very effective. I stopped by your shots of the Tour de France, but this shot really caught my eye.

Thank you. I really like what you did with the shot. How did you do it? My intention was to make the picture with a cool, mechanical feeling an I was kind of pleased with the result. But your processing makes the shot work even better for me. Good work.

something about this shot really attracts me, i like the crop, and the details, very well captured. i just wish you did some post processing to it, it would've boosted the colors a little. here's what i tried out, hope you dont mind

Hmmm.... no views or comments and I cannot understand why not?! This has great composition and beautiful soft colours. You've chosen your viewpoint very well to get the repeating angles of the cranes across the centre of the image too. Excellent image Heiko!

Hi James,
the platform is built with a slight curve. I will give it a try with levels/cotrast later today.
Thanks's,

Nice view in great lighting. I love the clouds and the way the lighthouse compount pops out from the image. I think it is because it is surrounded by all that different-coloured grassland, and it stands out agains the blue sky.
Nice one, Heiko.

I love the misty atmosphere, good result from this low-contrast lighting. My only suggestion would be a 10% sacrifice @ the bottom because the grass does not add so much to the picture.

So far best of your series! I like it because of the blue parts of the sky - which is more batural and because of the telephone cables.

Nice early morning landscape, Heiko. I like the delicate colours in the sky, the off-center composition and your use of the electricity wires to pull the eye into the picture.

very nice haiko.... the train almost looks concave on the edge. how did you get that curvature on the platform, or was it just built like that? i have a similar shot in my portfolio, at least in the same subject area anyway. only suggestion i can make is maybe adjust the levels a bit... or the contrast.
