I think this exposure is great!
High-key subject is offset nicely with the darker background, and I think both balance well.

I am not sure what you mean with 'too much'. If it's the pose or the expression, then i think it's ok. It may even be more (e.g. by asking to look down a bit).
If you wanted to get a high key effect: the exposure for the face is spot on, hair color and eyes are perfect. IMO, only the background is too dark.

I'm also for cloning it out. And cropping off the top of the frame a bit. Actually, try a crop just below the plane.
Good job of positioning the umbrella in the frame. I like the way it reaches almost all the way across to the other edge.

Bruce, wonderful silhouette. Beautiful colors and perfect framing. I have to say though that the airplane and the trails distract from the over all beauty of the image.
