You are definitely not in position to dictate the conditions, Mirek, but you are quite as definitely in position to take advantage of them, just as they are. This is what this image tells. Each and every condition can turn to the best possible conition if one keeps on consciously trying again and again, as you said. Many name that "if you got wrong you get right next time", and many would call that "studying". It is pretty much the same to me.
There is no reason to stop trying to get something right, even if one knows that it will never get completely "perfect". (Whatever that might mean.)
So, on this one I really find that you managed to facilitate the harsh(est) lighting to your own advantage. Much like turning the disadvanteges to virtuesm which I think might also be one of the very keys into good photography.

Thanks Nick for Your detailed comment. I know the lighting is harsh, but I am in no position to dictate the conditions. When they fly I take a picture no matter where the Sun is. Persistance is the key. Thank You for stopping at my gallery and for looking.

One of the very best images of modern aircrafts I ever saw here, Mirek. Really remarkable for the contrast that you managed between it and its background, despite the fact that it must have been so hard in all possible disciplines. The good details but in this case also the hard reflections on the plane's surfaces really paint it as it should be - a flying speedy metal thing. The nose, the intakes and the fuselage kept all the very typical shape of the Hornet and those two ruders make it just about perfect. The canopy with perhaps not much but still a little bit of a visible pilot adds also a touch of strong reality to that good timing that you applied.
A very realistic one! I am not a fan of those planes as "military machines" but rather as representants of such good aerodynamics. Their element is just... thin air. Remarkable!

This was taken inside a canyon in Death Valley National Park. I am sitting on one wall of the canyon and the other makes for the background. It is a hike to get this low to be even with the planes. They fly inside this crack in the ground. It is like watching Star Wars in the nature. Sorry for my late response. It is getting cold again I will be heading there soon.
