Hi Kim, thanks for your comment yesterday. I visited your Website, you really do have some great shots. Here on Usefilm it was hard to find a shot without a dog in it Just joking (they are all very good) but eventually came across this one. As i'm a fan of your "magic light" landscapes i thought i would reply here. I'm sure by now you have printed this, i sincerely hope so! I like the combination, very colourful and ALL the images are excellent. I can see what you mean about the layout, but i think that is due to the emptiness and colour involved in the top horiz. one. It is just so strong and appears optically to be larger than the one underneath it. When i scroll the photo in IE then i crop just a tiny bit of the top of this photo and it gets a different weight in the overall picture. You lose a little cloud formation (which in the original would be really important) but for the sake of this collage, mabe it helps here. Just IMHO
Best wishes from Switzerland, Neil

Hi Peter, i clicked on this because i liked the title and yes it does look like snow in the thumbnail, and last but least today i awoke to a covering in white - at last. Big storms over the last couple of days have brought a lot of snow to the mountains. As to your technique, i think it is coming on fine. I would prefer a little more contrast in certain parts of the image but that is personal preference, but could be easily done in layers i guess. Still you are the artist... Keep it up and best wishes for the season and new year from Switzerland, Neil

Hi Arwa, don't worry about being too short, the main thing is that your legs reach the ground Nice photo, good toning and a nice smile from your subject. The answer to your question on my photo is "i don't know..." I do very little post processing prefering to keep things as they were at the time, i do no cloning and certainly don't need to increase the saturation. I guess it's just a good camera (Canon G5). I'm happy with it for the moment. I do pay attention to the exposure though, often on manual, and EV corrections are common place. Thanks for the comment and best wishes from Switzerland. Neil

Hi Ian, i have to give you a +6 for this one (that is from me an excellent ;-)) Why well i admire your courage and creativity. You have something that i wish i had. When i look at my own portfolio i find them all to tame, almost boring, too safe. But when i look at yours i can see the work of an artist - i mean that sincerly! This one i find a little dark and sinistre, but i can see a good photo in it. My congrats and best wishes - your friend, Neil PS: The rivets on the roof are stones holding the slating down! It's quite common here.
