amazing picture, very simple but very effective. The colors and composition are fantastic, the lonely boat and lonely cloud work very well in this composition. Looks like they belong together. I generally don't like borders on a picture, but in this it works fine since it gives it a nice soft look. Well done!

The simplicity you achieved in this photo is a nice element and the cloud a good photographic event. I believe though that your frame is too neat and 'setlled' that soon becomes dull. I also disagree with the size and colour you gave to the external frame...

I saw this event in a calm lake in the sout of my country last week, when i was travelling and driving with car.
first i didn't stop, but after about 500 meters i returned to this lake, because i thinked that there was a beauty there that catch my soul from the window of the car(in first looking).
i returned and stop there, there wasn't any one there. it was early morning, and so the weather was clear and i was sure that i can have vivid color there.
there was just a bit Fog that i always love it for my landscapes. i think i was lucky for all of these elements there.
i'm glad that i could continue the story of "Loneliness" with this shot. thank you Yahya El Hosafy for drop and your good question!

i'm so happy that i have rceived your mail, in this day i nave seen your work, but with little time is impossible my comment, now, I am useful and i see a nice interesting shot,.. many frined called me "man of the lake". i lve this atmosphere created from the lake and the saturation colors, have a great composition and mood;
the yellow boat is so a little presence in the infinity water, so infinity that it seem in the sky one, one only essence ..personally i se one big shot and idea, maybe a little perfect in the composition.. the boat is centered with he frame and the clouds!!! sure the choice for a vertically mode have increase the perspective and a strong mode, maybe the choice in horizontal cut have still a relaxing idea..

Nice tranquil scene.
Maybe a tad lacking in colour saturation, but that somehow adds to the overall impression of peace and tranquillity.
Would work well as an advertising poster for a tourist board, or just to hang on the wall in the office or at home.

that is a very nice shot, and epitomizes the concept of being alone. only thing i would like to see more would be a little bit of fog, to add some mystery to the shot.

Congratulations on a well deserved award. This image is very soothing and serene. Wow, I've made two of your images my favorites in 2 minutes. And I haven't even gone through all your images! I guess engineers can be very creative. All is not lost for me. My constant battle is technical vs. just letting my eye and my heart see an image. I am also an engineer but I just get bogged down by the fancy stuff. My admiration to you sir!

Only one question: was the cloud really there (what a stroke of lucky) or was it added in post-processing ?

Quite awsome pic., is amazing how u find a yellow spot on a light blue background, good light, I like the reflection of the boat also the crop!

I've had a chance to look through your portfolio and I'm still speachless. You have truly stunning images. Like this one... so simply yet so effective. I might however disagree with the title "alone" - for me the boat does have company... in the form of the perfectly positioned cloud - right above it - almost as if it were following the boat or keeping an eye out for it. What I would like to know is where the driver/rower disappeared to.
