For me, what makes this photograph are the postures of the two boxers. Too bad you can't see a little more of the right boxer's head, but the referee's gaze at the boxer kind of compensates for it. I'd give you more for emotional appeal, but the sight of all that blood turns my stomach. If it were in BW, the blood would take on a more abstract quality and be less of a turn off but I guess it all depends on the effect you are trying to create.

Nice framing, nice captured moment. I like the expression on the left boxer's face. And the drops of sweat in suspension are cool. I have also done boxing pictures, it is hard to release the shutter at the right moment! Well done.

First of all, thank you for all the kind words. I really appreciate them. Boxing photography is one of the most action filled of all the sports. It is especially fun shooting two evenly matched pugilists. Ben, email me at paulgallegos6@hotmail.com and I'll correspond with you. Paul

I don't know if "emotional appeal" is the right phrase, but this certainly has emotional impact. I've never shot boxing, but I can just imagine how difficult it is to get a good shot - like this one. I, too, think B&W might be interesting - Bob T.
