This is a great image, Chris. The channel shift makes it look a bit like snow, which gives it great atmosphere.

Hi, Chris, nice to hear from you again!

Chris M.   {K:2058} 11/5/2003
Hi,

thanks for your nice comments!

@Felipe:
Thanks, not much time for photography since months :-(
But I'll keep on ... when I find the time :-)
Yesterday I got a great idea for a new IR image, but that's something special ... not an easy task ... a special weather is needed ... I hope I'll get the chance before winter.

Greetings from Germany

Chris

Hallo Chris,

i looked at ur profile.. i realy do like the IR thing.. however,,,, i didn't understand how do u capture such effects?! is it type of filters, lens, film or wut?? sorry i'm not that good.. i only take shots that attrachts me.. i really want to learn more! can u explain more?? thanx!
btw, i'm using Canon 20D does it make any diffrence??

Chris M.   {K:2058} 1/2/2006
Hi Alyazia,

for IR photography you'll need a filter ... the Hoya R72 is the one I use.

To learn the basics of digital IR visit dpfwiw.com/ir.htm

With a Canon 20D it is possible, but it's very difficult and you'll need bright sunlight, because this cam is not very IR-sensitive. Have a look at my latest IR image "In Memoriam" ... it was taken with a 20D. If you should try it yourself, you'll have to know, that you have to overexpose about 5 f-stops with the filter attached ... and always shoot in RAW.

Greeting from Germany
Chris
