Splendid composition. The length, heavy texture and vivid reds of the gown against the thick jumble of vine give a linear appearance and add weight to the lower portion of the image. This also gives the illusion that the model is floating slightly above the ground. As your eye is drawn up, the mesh work of vine lessens and is interrupted by the framework hereby drawing your eye inward to the delicate neck, crimson lips and wind-blown hair. The light green of the angular collar adds yet another dimension. The lighting is very atmospheric, giving this a mystical goddess quality ..Christine

Thanks! This is the first shoot where I dragged my studio lighting outside. Now I am hooked. Planning to do it again on the 17th.

Beautiful work Chris. I'm sure this will look a thousand times better as a large print than a small jpeg. The central placement of the model and the enveloping vines work really well. Regards John

I like all the texture in the background on this one. It makes the fabric pop nicely.

Kim Taylor   {K:2816} 4/9/2004
This is a great fashion shot, the outfit is definitely centre stage here, with the vines forming a circle inside the square image, and yet another square behind the model. The monochrome wall and vines is complemented well by the low contrast in the photo. Cloudy dull day no doubt. I love how the model is barely there, and I bet she likes the shot too. A highly formal composition for a very formal looking gown.

spectacular model, spectacular garment, spectacular setting. her fair skin and hair make her head almost invisible, though. very cool idea and, but for this tonal problem, well executed.
