Wow... i really like this photo

Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47727} 7/15/2005
There?s just enough foreground interest to ensure the image feels full, without distracting elements to take our attention away from the vast interesting background, free to roam around the image, the respect of rule of 3rd gave this capture a points of power, fabulous work. Saeed

LOVE the feeling on this David. Wonderful stretched out feel on the shot - that eternity feeling. Great shot of the sky and wonderful colors of nature.

Gorgeous skyscape, nicely staged with the elements in the foreground. Immense depth you create with wide FOV + stitching. Maybe I would have tried a wee bit more contrast for the ground, not sure. Congrats !

Regards

Carsten

Oh David...this is one of the most beautiful landscapes. It is in favorites too. You did an amazing job on this, and I would hang this in my home in a heartbeat. One of your best IMHO.

David Hofmann   {K:23763} 7/17/2005
thanks Casten for the feedback. This one is actually the pano I had so much trouble getting together. It worked ok in panotools, but this one was done with autostitch in less than 3 minutes (4k resolution) without any input from me.
I wish there was more color variation in this one, but I didn't want to add color artificially.

David Hofmann   {K:23763} 7/17/2005
thanks so much Toni! this one really works best at a large print size.

David Hofmann   {K:23763} 7/17/2005
thanks very much Saeed!

thanks very much Cheryl, I did this some time ago and completely forgot about it.

David Hofmann   {K:23763} 7/17/2005
thanks Kelly! it means a lot coming from you!

David Hofmann   {K:23763} 7/17/2005
thanks Klifton. I really need one of those super wide zooms for landscapes. autostitch is great but it doesn't replace a wide angle lens. The 12-24 is high on my list. But the 30/1.4 is higher :)

Klifton K.   {K:3386} 7/17/2005
Sigma's new 30mm f/1.4? Yes, I have been eyeing that one very carefully! I think it'd be an ideal solution for my 50mm f/1.4 desires. :)
