Really nice work

fine b/w, nice tone and very moody photo!
The house on the left (behind the trees) is somewhat disturbing the serenity.

Thanks for your commment. Yes I know about the house, but turning slightly would've brought out one at the opposite site.

That is a very pretty scene Titia. Nice mood. Don.

I like the tone you selected for this photo. It gives a nice warm but slightly mysterious look. Del.

This is a fine shot Titia. For me the toning is very reminiscent of an old 1920/30's image, which is an effect I like. You have done well with the composition too. There are always items in a photo which are 'in the wrong place'. This is the nature of photography as an art medium compared to painting or other forms of more traditional art. The photographer must make use of what there is where ever it appears. The artist can choose what he sees and then paint what he chooses.
Lovely image with superb perspective and foreground interest.

On another note I have been reading the forums lately and have been very impressed by some of your comments there, particularly the ones regarding poor Ken Krishnan. I rarely comment on the forums myself as I find they can lead to horrendous flame wars as there seem to be fanatics out to make a point who won't listen to other arguments whether they are well considered or not. I find your arguments well founded and they seem to reflect much of my own thinking. No small feat I can assure you!

Anyway, keep up all the good work, both in yourphotography and the forums.

Alastair
