About An Astrantia or Zeeuws knoopje as we call it... ;-D!!! Here we go again... Dutch for beginners... LOL:
Zeeuws = from Zeeland... a province in the Netherlands (Zealand, not the New one.... ;-D) and knoopje = button (little). And the name is Zeeuws knoopje because it looks a lot like the buttons used on the traditional clothes the people used to wear in Zeeland. Nowadays only a very few (old) people wear those clothes... another tradition almost gone... pitty really, but I can't blame the younger generations... they aren't all that comfortable and practical... ;-D!!!

Wonderful both capture. Silver button because it's handmade. The floral is natural beauty. Nice captures dear Petal! Great idea! :)

Lovely, crispy flower photo, with gorgeos colors, excellent dof and a very funny and interesting "about", dear Petal. In some of my visits to the Netherland I've seen people, not necessarily old ones wearing the traditional costumes. It has, however, to be added that I didn't notice the knoopjes and that I was considerably younger...
My ring-flash and I thank you for your very, very generous comment on our "Fall, green."
Best regards,
Rafi

Who's been a busy girl, then?!
Nice shot of this Zeeuws knoopje, Petal (How on earth do you pronounce THAT?!!!)
Best regards, Chris

Petal Wijnen   {K:50944} 9/22/2005
Well now lets have a go at mastering that one... ;-D!!!
I'm writing it phoneticaly but I can't do the 'funny signs' or upside down ones because of the limitations of this text editor... so I putting the pronunciation in between brackets... here goes....
Zeeuws: z eI (like the a in baby) w s
knoopje: k n eu (like the o in most) p j e (like the e in silent)
Now start practicing... by the time I come over... if ever... I'll give you a little test to see and hear if my lessons were any good... LOL!!!!

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 9/22/2005

Best regards, Chris

A beautiful shot Petal - perfect focus, composition and DOF....

I guess this ust be Old Zealand then (as opposed to the New one where I was born and raised!).

Jus going to look at all the rest of the cracking shots you've put up now (seen the thumbnails and you've been busy!!!)

More comments coming soon!
