About On the morning of 27th October, the UK experienced its warmest such day since records began. I've already posted an image captured earlier that morning but as the sun rose so the pink of dawn spread round the compass and I turned my camera to capture this view of Swinside. The little fell has been more attractive as it's half de-nuded following a bout of forestry work but it's still an attractive area. The wind was blowing hard which has caused some movement in the foreground bracken but it's not too distracting. During the 30 second exposure, a dustbin lorry came down the road below Swinside and you can see its light trail if you look carefully. I used a 2 stop soft ND grad and an 81B warm-up filter.

Un'ottima atmosfera, con colori che sembrano surreali, ma che non per questo rendono l'immagine bellissima!

Complimenti!

Ciao

Very nice landscape but a bit blueish, especially on the mountains

Excellent depth and colors Barry. So this is with your back to the sun correct? I like the subtle colors that can be produced at this time, 90 or 180 degrees to the sun.

Cheers,
Chris

Chris, yes, this is facing about north-northwest with the sun in the east-southeast so between 120 and 150 degrees away from the sun. It was amazing watching the pink spread round from the intense colours near the sun then more and more subtle hues as it spread round to the north.

Hi Barry,

I've just tripped over your portfolio via someone else comments and I've been browsing through your images. Your portfolio is outstanding. So rare to see someone achieving such vivid colours without the aid of Photoshop these days. So refreshing to see all these rich natural colours.

A stunning image with wonderful detail. It's a pleasure to view your images.

Cheers - Ann :)

Another beautiful landscape with colors and texture that are so real that it's like viewing through a window, beckoning. Wow. Rodney
