I like the minimalistic approach helped on its way by the muted colors and the interesting texture. Just missing the dead squirrel for the "road kill" effect. --Jan

THAT IS HILARIOUS! You see I HAVE got a photo of a squirrel roadkill! I'll describe it to you... I was crossing the road and saw the dead squirrel, but then noticed the word 'SLOW' painted on the road surface underneath it. I then had a leap of imagination and realised if I got my angles right, I could exclude the 'S and 'L' so that it just read 'OW'. So the finished image is this squashed animal with guts splattered everywhere on top of OW. Yes, it must have hurt... poor thing. Maybe I'll post it on Usefilm one day...

Another good composition and excellent texture and tones. A road like many that is being passed by millions of individuals. We might be very different, but we do share some of the same properties, and we do share the same roads and the soil that is lying there just below the pavement. THis never ceases to amaze me - all the roads and freeways, all the pavement making up artificial veins that indirectly supply people with artifacts, food, visits. Just below it all there is soil making it all seem rather fragile.

Hey there Patrick. I love, love, love this!! Even without the dead and fluffy splat! Great earthy colours and texture, the grate gives added interest. I would hang this on my wall. Excellent presentation. cheers, Bek p.s. Sheila says 'hi', and wants to know if you know of a good nanny service she could call?

Yeah, there's one that operates out of Perth called 'Nan in a van' that's supposed to be good. They offer an excellent service, apparently... the nanny locks the children in the back of the van using a heavy duty padlock so they're in no danger and then kicks back in the front with some smokes and beer and AC/DC on the radio until the parents get back. Nanny is fed, watered and entertained (so no need to raid the client's fridge and booze supply) and the kids are safe and snug. Perfect! I think the number's in the phone book.
