  Q. I need help-Sony A100 question
           Asked by C Man    (K=322) on 3/6/2008
I just took into possession a Sony A100 and I am not very familiar with it, my question is... when taking photos is it normal that the LCD screen does not show you what your taking a photo of until you have snapped the photo and then you preview it on the LCD? I have never owned a camera that you cannot view what your taking a photo of on the LCD. Is it normal that the only way to see what your taking a photo of through the view finder alone? I know this probably sounds stupid but I really don't know, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what model that is but if it is an SLR, then yes, you will not see anything on the LCD until you preview it. As far as I know, most SLRs are that way, since you are looking through the lens and not counting on the LCD for composing a photo. The Canon 40D now has a "live view" on the LCD but I've not used it since the day I got mine, I've long since got over that feature.

Thanks for the reply, yes the A100 is a DSLR. I have never really owned a true DSLR...the closest I have gotten has been the Sony f-828 and on that one I could switch between the LCD and the view finder to see what it was I was aiming at. So at first when I couldn't see anything I thought maybe it wasn't working properly.
Thanks again!
Anyone else with a Sony A100 like to give their input about the camera?
