If you are getting same effect with different lenses, it's certanly faulty camera sensor.

more likely the electronics reading out the sensor than the sensor itself. It seems to be missing an entire channel, which means a single data line either doesn't get power or fails to read.
Or it's an artifact introduced by software during postprocessing. Only a close look at the original camera output can determine that (and then only if that output is RAW, not JPEG, as JPEG is already processed in camera from the raw sensor data).

Ananda, You should contact Nikon customer service at http://www.nikonusa.com/Service-And-Support/Contact-Nikon-Support.page (if you are in USA). For other locations: http://www.nikon.com/network/
Ask for email address to send them example images. They will give you estimeted cost of repair. After it you willl decide to repair the camera or buy new camera body.
