  Q. need help selcting a lense for eos 50d

hi to any one reading this i need some help picking a new lens for my 50d i currently have the 17-85mm f/4-5.6 but it has just deied i think that it was a great lens but looking around ihave found the 28-135mm or the 24-85mm can any one let me know which is the better of the three or make any other sugestions that would be great and thanks to any one that takes the time to respond

picking a lens depends on what are you going to shoot with it,and you have not specified that,and will assume it is a general photography one.
if you pick 24-85 you will loose the wide angle power of the 17-85,and you will get no benefit over your previous one,so I suggest to ignore this choice completely,as for the other 28-135 it is a good lens,having an image stabilization,and got more focal length which will allow you to shoot more objects in a moor zoom power,and yet still have the wide angle focal length of the 24mm,but not so powerful as the 17mm,

The 24-70mm f/2.8 is a great portrait lens. I use it all the time!
