  Q. Canon G7 or SD850?
Asked by Colin McCready    (K=20) on 2/17/2008
Hi - New to the forum. Over the past few years, I've been using an old Canon A70 to take pictures while snorkeling, mostly in the Caribbean. It works fine, but has some disadvantages, particulalry the shutter lag. Decided to upgrade, and stay with Canon since I like their products. Narrowed it down to the G7 or SD850 - I know there are later models available, but I can get either of these thru a rewards program, so they would be free - quite an advantage I think. Anyway, wondered if anyone could provide any advice. Thanks

I use my Canon 350D inside of a Ewa-Marine (http://www.ewa-marine.de/index.php?id=83&ca=&ra=&ext=&model=Canon%20EOS%20350D&L=0)dedicated plastic bag with great satisfaction:

Colin -- If you can live without RAW format, the G-7 is a fantastic camera. I recently moved to the G-9 because of RAW support but I can assure you that the G-7 is a versatile and quality camera.
--Best regards, Jan
