  Q. AWA Housings any good ?
Asked by Scott McFadden    (K=5643) on 5/18/2005
I reallly want to take some underwater portraits and am considering my options.
AWA housings seem my only affordable option for underwater pics for my d100 if anybody has some advice about these good or bad I'd like to know as im considering purchasing one soon.
any other options that are cheaper would also be appreciated.

I think you're talking about the EWA soft housings? I got one years ago, and to be honest, found it very difficult to work with. It was difficult to keep the lens lined up with the port, and getting my hand in and out of the "glove" to make adjustments was a real chore! The material seemed OK, the closure system worked well, but like all vinyl products, it will inevitably develop a split somewhere, usually near the closure :( Pretty much useless after that.
