Q. Mystery of this tecnique

Hi,
Please take a look at this photos from Terri Weifenbach...

I'm trying to get close to this effects, but it seems impossible with a normal lens.

Have you any idea how to dismantle this mystery?

it appears to me that he's focusing on subjects in the middle of the photo with a shallow DoF.... or, it could all be done with post processing in photoshop.. I don't know.

I think you are right.
In some instances it looks like some of the surrounding branches have been knocked to create the motion blur.

I think it's only lense effect no Photoshop. Look this photo:

It's only Vega-28 120mm lense on the Kiev-60 (6x6).

Yep, that sure does look like super shallow DoF, I got that all the time with my Mamiya 330 till I figured it out.
