  Q. Can anyone recommend a lab for custom b&w film developing?
Asked by Bill Ballard    (K=33) on 10/2/2006
Hi folks -

I've been away from the darkroom for a little over two years now. I've got a refrigerator/freezer of various Agfa APX and Ilford films - hundreds of rolls, literally - and I'd like to shoot it.

There's no lab around here that does b&w processing - so - can anyone recommend a mail-order lab that can custom process b&w film?

Thanks in advance -

Bill

hi, someone once mentioned to me that "Images Photo" in Tucson,AZ does strictly B/W and are excellent...go to www.mylab.com

Also, check with your Savannah,GA "Wolf Camera 1461" store at 7804 Abercom Extension space #89 to find out if they also process your specific B/W film,or can send out for you...
Hope this helps.....regards,gayle

Just a suggestion but I use a dark bag and film tanks to process my B & W. I load film (sheet) in a L.F. dark bag so it is big enough to transfer 120 rolls without problems although they do have dark tents available (bag with a frame) for more bucks.

Clay -

Thanks for the reply; however, my problem is that I don't have access to anything related to my darkroom - chemicals, tanks, even my old rolling bags.

In the time that has passed since I first posted this questions, I've found some "workable" solutions....

Thanks again -

Bill

Hi Bill,
I am in the custom lab bussiness for 15 years, and developing all B&W films. I use ONE SHOUT developer only, to make sure every time I'll get the same resalt. No replenishment methods!
For 7 years I had a Custom lab named AZAMO on W 20th street in the New York city and then moved to 39th street , where I opened another lab named VEGAFOTO, where I was for another 5 years, then I transfered my business to New Jersey where I live and work with my customers by Mail. I can provide a references If you need.
Thanks,

Alex
P.S. If any one of you folks is interested of B&W FILM DEVELOPING will be happy to help you. Also you can ask me a questions e-mailing me to: alex.vengerov@hhgroup.us
