  Q. Zeiss lens on m42 pentax adapter.
Asked by Richard Ullakko    (K=48) on 4/25/2006
I have a zeiss jena 135, 3.5 lens(screw mount) for my Pentax camera. It will focus within 3 feet but not at infinity or inbetween. I am thinking I either have a bad adapter or a lens problem. Any ideas? It does this on several different Pentax K mount cameras.

You screw the adaptor onto the lens then bayonet the lens onto the camera. You then unscrew the lens from the camera. The adaptor stays on the camera but can now be removed by sticking your finger nail into the slot and twisting. When on the camera, the adaptor should be flush with the camera mount so the lens will be flush with the mount when screwed back on. If this is not so , the adaptor may be faulty.
However I think the fault is with the lens - does it work properly on a screw mount Pentax?
