Q. New York Visit

I'm going to be in NY from the 18 to the 24 June and was wondering if any Usefilmer might reccomend (a) some not to be missed locations and (b) a good camera shop as I'm thinking of getting a Pentax K10 body.

Better not get big gear outside the EU. Customs are very keen on it, and you're extremely likely to get caught which will lead to hefty import duties and fines to the effect that you'd be cheaper off buying it at home.
As an added problem you'll have chargers and cables for US power and outlets, and a warranty certificate that's not honoured in Europe.

But if you insist, use either B&H or Adorama. NEVER buy anything in Brooklyn, pretty much all stores there are frauds.
