The image cannot be found, the file is kaput or the server doesn't have the needed rights to read the file. If you have an url it would be easy enough to test and tell..

I haven't published the page yet because of this problem. The image looks fine on the "normal" page but when I switch to "preview" I get those little boxes and have no idea if the image rotation is working.
Do you think I need to publish it in order to get things to work properly?

Well, not as such, but to see the code makes it easier to find out what's going on. Without it one can only guess..

James, you said 'image rotation'. Are you using a Javascript to rotate images? Is it all of the images on the page/site? Or just a few?
Publishing the page would be a good idea, then include the link back so you can have someone take a look. You probably just have a broken path somewhere.
Also, when you upload make sure all of the folders are uploaded and are in the same spot on your server as they are on your computer. Most sites use an /images folder - it can be named anything though - to keep them separate from the html (keeps things nice and tidy!) Then just make sure all of your html reference the /images folder so nothing breaks.
And post a link if you need more help :-)

First throw away Microsoft Front Page! Then visit Macromedia.com and purchase DreamWeaver. OK now you are ready to build your site. I think someone else mentions the red "x" means the image is missing. I think I would agree. Although the image may very well be there and the path is incorrect. Make sure the path to your image is correct. If your website is http://www.yoursite.com and your page is in this level i.e. http://www.yoursite.com/yourpage.html and your images are in a folder http://www.yoursite.com/images then the image path from this page yourpage.html would be Hope this helps. If you post the actual html we can figure this out easier. Good luck!
