About Our drive up the pacific coast highway was incredible...one of those things I've always wanted to do. If I'd only had more time to spend! If I lived anywhere near there I know what I'd be doing every weekend....sigh...

Espectacular paisaje, la gaviota solitaria le da un toque único y especial.

Good light and incredible area. I wonder if you managed to grab one with the gull not quite so centered? The rocks also look good,

Cheers,
Chris

Thank chris! no, unfortunately, I turned the camera to get a vertical and the bird flew on.

although, it really would have looked best if the bird was left of center, and I wasn't quick enough for that : )

I did this drive as well, and you have a great shot. The landscape approach looks better in my opinion.

I would have preferred that the seagull was not in the shot, but nature is fickle.

Great lighting, for outdoor shots look for the first hour and last hour of daylight for the "magic light"...

Also, nice rule of thirds composition.

Normally, I would not have suggested centering the land mass, but in this case I think it worked out best since it really composes the shot and brings out the subject. The rocks leading out to the mass are a wonderful addition to the composition.

Don't know if you tried this or are able to try this, but you can add a mask gradient to darken the sky a touch and bring out the land mass. Let me know if you need hints in this area or are interested.

Thanks for the comment - I hope that I was the one that got your Karma over 1K.

Michael, thank you so much for your comments and insight. I'm self-taught on photoshop, so I'm not sure what you mean by mask gradient. I'm definitely interested; if you've got time to share, I'd totally appreciate the help! Thanks again, so much!
