The dark clouds really make this shot. They provide a gloomy backdrop to the caustic water and arid land. The people also provide a great sense of scale. Very nicely scene and captured.

How do you fit in all this travel?

Good shot, you could mess with saturation to bring out the colors, but I think this fits the description quite well.
