About Docked at San Diego harbour probably until tomorrow.

Beautiful evening tonight. Rushed to the harbor but just missed the sunset, but got the afterglow.

This ship is HUGE! (I still don't want to go on one)

The moon was bright as was Venus! But the moon really was more of a sliver, this lense did something funny to it, made it rounder, strange......

A perfect exposure, Lori!
What a sight this must have been!
The moon and Venus are great little bonuses!
Best regards, Chris

Dear Lori, wow, that's a really nice shot. Never tried to do a night shot like this (but I hardly ever use a tripod outside except for those real short travel ones you have to put on top of a parked car or bench seat or something) Very nice work, Mark

You really did get the afterglow. It is beautiful at that time of evening. Maybe even better than the sunset you missed. Great exposure on the whole scene. Nice work Lori. don.

A perfect exposure to reveal everything necessary but still give the feeling of night. Very impressive.

Yahya El Hosafy   {K:8366} 12/6/2005
great view Lori.
amazing glow and blue tone.
the roundness of the moon is due to the long exposure, usually moon shooting uses fast shutter speeds somehow, the longer ur shutter stays open, the round the moon gets :)

Hi Yahya,

Thanks for explaining about the shape of the moon. I was kind of surprised to see this.
Pleased you like this image,
Lori :)

Floating and dark city! Seem to be a train to. A very good landscape, with moon and stars!
Excellent!

Nice separation of sky and dark ship. The highlights don't flare. A very nice job on an imposing beast of a ship.

That is one massive ship!...great job with the exposure,Lori...lovely reflective light and deep blues....did you hear about the cruiseship that was attacked by modern day pirates recently?...yeah, not sure i would want to be on any water vessel for too long...regards,gayle

Paul Lara   {K:77712} 12/8/2005
yeah, that's my favorite time of evening, just after the sun's gone down, and the sky gets royal blue and there's just enough ambient light to get shots like this. Nice!!

Peter Daniel   {K:33866} 12/19/2005
Wonderful Night Photograph Lori, Great Colors and Clarity. Very well presented.

Thanks for sharing, and thanks for the wonderful comment on my Crystal Grass Photo... The dark background effect was done by shooting toward the sun at about 30 degree angle to avoid the glare and reducing the exposure bias.
GOD Bless...
Your friend, Peter Daniel

My Lord!
I just got the mast and you give us the whole...!!!
Hi Lori, how are you?
This one is so beautiful... A whole ship!
And a beautiful timing to get the moon and venus together....

A very warm hello from "the Night Owl" :-)
