Very good idea. At first I thought you caught someone walking by and I was thinking "The Decisive moment". Great work anyway. - Dave

Hi Ina, I still lurk from time to time although still busy. Spotted this and just had to comment. This is really great like he's there watching over you Ina. I love the distortion in the mirrored buildings yet he appears to be upright and walking straight ahead. The clarity in the mirrir is excellent and the textures on the wall add a lovely interest. A very unusual vision very well done Ina.

Cheers - Ann :)

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/6/2005

Linda Bique   {K:73886} 12/6/2005
Creative and interesting work dear Ina, I love the rich colors and textures on the wall. The blinds in the reflection are pretty cool too, nice idea, he kind of has that Humphrey Bogart look about him, very nice image with creative treatment, well done, hugs!!

Tracey Main   {K:7294} 12/6/2005
Great one Ina this is so effective it sort of looks like a ghost in the mirror with the see through reflection, very creative Tracey..

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/6/2005
Thanks Tracey, sorry I've been slow with my responses over the weekend!

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/6/2005
Thanks very much Linda, funny that you mentioned the blinds - my grandfather had a small store and he had this type of window blinds which he closed every night. Thanks for your nice comment, hugs, Ina

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/6/2005

Kathy Hillard   {K:25721} 12/7/2005
Very cool and very creative, Ina! A mirror is the perfect place to superimpose an image like this! I really like all the textures and lines here! Well done!
Kathy

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/7/2005
Thanks Kathy, you must be just home from work!

I think you have the transparency of the layer exactly right here...... they always seem odd to me when they're not opaque enough. And this image is a stronger design than the previous one ...... and the design of an image is one of your strong points ..... but I think I'm partial to the dark one. They really are quite different impressions. Nice work, Ina.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/7/2005
Well John, since you are around to see it, I wanted initially to dedicate the dark one (Smoke & Mirrors) to you, because I kept thinking of your Japan mood (the curve) while I was doing that one, that's what inspired me - I will do it right now. [go Edit]

Rina     {K:26519} 12/7/2005
Ina! What a delight it's been to sneak back in after a week and see all your creative work! Rather than bombard your inbox with a squillon comments :)), I thought I'd use this latest one to let you know how much I've enjoyed what you've been doing. Particularly, the "Structural" series, along with "The Perspective" and these last two mirror works. Amazing, taking a walk through your portfolio is NEVER dull. I'm visually rewarded with each and every image.

Great stuff.
Cheers
Rina

Thanks for your warm wishes too. I shall keep popping in and out to see what you've been up to... :)

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/7/2005
Wow! Thanks Rina! It's a great pleasure to hear these comments from you! Thanks a lot! Will pop in to check you too :)

Neal Nye   {K:15827} 12/7/2005
And some people don't believe in ghosts. I guess you proved them wrong.

Nermeen Edrees   {K:1251} 12/7/2005
Extraordinary...extremely creative and out of the box...seriously...one of the best photos I've seen lately.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/7/2005
Thanks Nermeen :)

Thanks Daniel :) I hope so :)

Yahya El Hosafy   {K:8366} 12/7/2005
wonderfull Ina.
looks that the whole mirror is added to the wall, i like how its very smooth against the rough wall textures.
lovely contrast in textures.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/7/2005
Thanks Yahya, I didn't touch the mirror. It was up about 2.5 m high on a wall on the street. I added the person, but the mirror is actually on the wall just like that!

Yahya El Hosafy   {K:8366} 12/7/2005
i knew that Ina.
i was meaning it feels like so :)
either u put it or it is there it will look and feel the same :)

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/7/2005
Yahya, check my next picture - read the "About" :)

Mark Longo   {K:12757} 12/7/2005
I love the textures here. The background surface of rough lines and the smooth glossy mirror are wonderful contrasts in texture. Also, the fine parallel lines in the mirror bring a wonderful dimension and also add a nice sense of depth. Also, your placement of your grandfather's figure in this is well chosen with the size well fitted to the mirror foreground and color and the transparency just right to communicate the fanciful aspect of it. One of my personal faves of the similar works you have done recently. Great job Ina!

Mark

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/7/2005
Thanks very much, Mark - great to hear that I'm a favorite, it means A LOT to me :)

Endre Novak   {K:12534} 12/7/2005
Great idea that the morrir shows a different time.
Nice work.
Endre

Andrzej Pradzynski   {K:21195} 12/10/2005
Ina, you are maitaining here intreating multiplaned composition with the one imaginary plane that reaches out far back but being at very front. Big deformation of the time and the space - a relativity kind of touch with Great Albert, I like it. n.j

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/10/2005
Thanks Andrzej :) Time warp!

György Szönyi   {K:8347} 12/11/2005
My favorite of the diptich. The mirror itself was very attractive but this complex composition is a real heavyweight. The superimposed grandpa and the rough background (planks? bricks?) definitely boost it. Grat: Gyuri

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/11/2005
Thanks Gyuri, the dark background inside the mirror is a metal blind or siding above a garage :)

Dave Slaugenhoup   {K:837} 12/22/2005
Amazingly creative and highly innovative. Many people will be inspired by this image. Wonderful 7+++!

Brian T. Ach   {K:1742} 1/4/2006
Really excellent, Ina, I think you are on to something here, and you should continue to explore it!

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 1/4/2006
Thanks Brian, I'm thinking of exploring it, I'm looking now at every convex mirror :)
