FABULOUS! What a shot! Ina, you captured this perfectly. I love the straight-on viewing angle which gives a great view of the circles within circles, some of the overlapping. The exposure/contrast creates a lovely pattern of pure black lines ansd the absense of half-tones in the pure black simplifies the pattern making it very viewable.

The square crop is the perfect choice as it allows you to show the perfect outer circle as tangental to each image edge. The symmetry (and asymmetry winthin) creates a very beautiful abstract. This is truely one of my most favorite images here at usefilm, bravo!!

The framed version is also very nice, I like it very much. It might also be interesting to place a 1 pixel white border along the image edge so that the circle remains perfectly circumscribed inside a square. Awesome!!!!

Mark

Thanks Mark, I feel honored :) Also, I did place a thin line around it, I have another 10 versions, I just couldn't get that 1 pixel right on all sides. Still have to learn more Photoshop!
I'll be off for a few days, thanks for your nice comment!

Yahya El Hosafy   {K:8366} 12/7/2005
A HIT..
Thank u first for the dedication, that would be really a neat decoration piece, specially with a contemporary wide red leather sofa inside a white space :)
i like how u cant see the whole view but to see it u have to go through all the small circles from side to side.
wonderfull.
Mark came here b4 me though :)

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/7/2005
You're welcome Yahya. I thought it was a fitting image for an architect, interior designer, plus you're starting a glass series. Too many coincidences! I'll be off for a few days, take care!

Yahya El Hosafy   {K:8366} 12/7/2005
will be waiting for your IMPORTANT comments Ina.
take care :)

A marvelous sculpture and an especially nice presentation of it. The choice of black and white was perfect. I like your first one better, without the frame. Very nicely done.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/8/2005
Thanks again, Neal :)

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/8/2005

Thanks Daniel :)

Mark Beltran   {K:32612} 12/8/2005
It reminds me of something I read about concerning quantum physics and multiple realities. And it's interesting how the round forms have been integrated with the hard lines of the window frames.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/8/2005
Thanks Mark, It was a simple piece of plate glass with magnifiers, quite a clever decorative piece. The view was magnificent - Wrangell Mountains - but that week there were forest fires and dense smoke. All you could see were the trees in front. I have many pictures of the Boreal forest in smoke.

Aram Gharib   {K:4122} 12/8/2005
I like both versions and a bit more the second because of the black frame that reinforces the circle-rectangle duality of the abstract composition.

There seem to be two table lamps in both sides of the picture and they play nicely in the bubbles!

Great geometry and very nice abstract.

Cheers.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/8/2005
Thanks, Aram! There are two table lamps, the one on the right less obvious. It's a hotel lobby with a grand view to the Wrangell Mountains in Alaska. There were forest fires, and the mountains are not visible, which actually in this shot probably is not important. All the seats were facing the window, like in a theater.
