Nice capture, Manu. Did you crop this photo? I thought it might have a little more impact if more of the building in the background was inclduded. Just a thought.
Peace, andy

Beauty in the decay! Isn't it amazing how the photographer's eye may notice beauty in the things that otherwise may seem just a broken thing or an old paint-peeled equipment. You have a great eye. My best regards to you. Armen

This image has great vintage appeal. It makes me wonder how long it's been since this pump has been used. I like how the grass is slowly overtaking the base. I wonder how this might look in black and white.

I tried it in black and white and I didn't like it nearly as much as the color. I won't even post it becuase your original is much better.

Hi Manu,
I adore your work on the textures in general, and this one really shows your skills again. This image lives from the lonesome area, the strong signs of rust and decay and the strong framing. Fine work!
best wishes, Thilo

Hi Manu,
Thanks for your comment! It's good to be back, too....
But on to more serious matters, I'm always fascinated by these old, worn out bits of industrialisation. The details are well captured, but I don't quite agree with Andy, as I believe creating an even closer up view would've rendered the image more abstract, allowing the viewer to appreciate the rusted metal more thoroughly. Zooming out more might create too much distraction. I do like the frame, though. Subtle enough to prevent distraction, but strong enough to single out the image, and capturing the viewers attention... Nice stuff!
Cheers,
Hugo

Hi Manu, Thanks for your comment earlier this week. Haven't checked out your photo's for a while. They still look great. In this one I like the mood and atmosphere. But for me the "I'm worth it" picture is your best! I'd like to see more people in your pictures. But that is of course only my personal preference... Take care, Chantal
