About A new still life to bring some holiday spirit.

This still life was staged on top of my piano, which has a nicely reflective lid. Your critique is welcome, I'm still trying to learn still life and usefilm has been of great help!

Absolutely delightful image, Mark! I love the various heights and shapes - so well chosen, such a great mix of reds, textures and forms! The glass adds so much sparkle, and the reflections and lighting are beautiful! I love how the candle lights are reflected, and the bell, and the wooden ball. Gorgeous surface the piano, it can't get any better!

Very nice, Mark.
The piano is an excellent choice for both it's dark and highly reflective properties. I like your selection of elements as well - lots of interestingly different textures and shapes.

Best regards,
Bob

from composition to lighting to reflections to angle... all are great. i like how the piano merges with the background too.
i guess those are your arms and camera reflected on the glass :)

very well done.

Thank you for your generous comments Yahya. I am pleased that you like it. I have tried to incorporate some of what I have learned from the generous and instructive critique of my recent still life "Pinapple and Friends". Your comment affirms that I am beginning to understand this form a little better. But still so much to learn! Thank you, my friend!

YOu have done a GREAT job Mark. I like the black mirroring surface and all red objects and lighted candles. Really nice and also it has a good atmosphere.

Like your other still life photos, this one is excellent. You have a good eye for composition and the sharp images you create enhance your work. I especially like the reflection on the table. Excellent shot.

Thank you very much for your generous remarks, Andy. Also, I have looked through your portfolio and see that you are making good improvements in your development of a "photographers eye" as your work continues. Keep shooting!

Regards,
Mark
