Great texture and details here, Ina! Very nicely composed, as well.
Thanks for your comment, too!
Dave.

I like this, Ina!
The element I like the most seems to be the wall. There is something very compelling about the patterns the rocks form, as well as contrasting the the rich tones of the window frames very nicely.

Best regards,
Bob

Excelente composición, perfectos los detalles y las texturas.
Muy bien hecho!

Aram Gharib   {K:4122} 12/18/2005
Excellent and very creative composition. Great capture too. The reflection of the exterior nude tree superposed on the interior green plant create a touching romantic event in the center. Window is again and for ever the place where things happen; in either side of it. And the wall that windows, door and the crest seem trying to soften the texture by a bit of humanity!! And it remains stony!

Very lovely picture in a classic style. Congratulations.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/18/2005
Thanks Bob, I photographed that wall and will use it as a backdrop texture, it was a great find and a very quaint building, too.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/18/2005
Thanks Aram, it was a quaint spot, nothing more, but I liked the old wall texture. There seems to be an endless supply of winter scenes I have now, ranging from quaint to scary :)

Alicia Popp   {K:83869} 12/18/2005
Parece que estuviera delante de esta fachada ... tan bien logrados están los detalles con sus texturas y colores. Feliictaciones Ina!!!

Mark Beltran   {K:32612} 12/18/2005
I think it richly deserves to be an art gallery. That wall's spectacular. A nice tribute to an historic place.

Kathy Hillard   {K:25721} 12/18/2005
This is a cool wall and an even cooler window Ina! Great textures and lines! Am I just looking too hard because of all the layering that you have been doing, or are there two eyes in that window??? I never could find your self portrait the last time, so I'm probably over compensating! :) Nice post!
Kathy

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/18/2005
Thanks Kathy, you made me laugh! This is an honest picture, no layers! Where do you see two eyes? You made me curious! If I'm adding my self-portrait I'm now announcing it, so there's no need to look! Ha-ha-ha! A strange thing happened though with my picture of the haunted brick house titled "The Song" - you can't see it on UF, but in the large size I swear there's a child face in the top R/H window. I kept looking, and I might be a poster inside... anyway, weird looking thing. But here it's just an art gallery in an old mill building. A very quaint setting by a small creek. I wish I took more pictures, but it was freezing!

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/18/2005
Thanks Mark, I'm going to revisit that place, it's not too far from me; there was a creek and I wonder if it wasn't more interesting from the creek side. The other day it was just too cold and windy, my hands froze in ten minutes.

Sorry I havn't been over here with the comments lately. Was helping my boyfriend open up a new company and planning my wedding for next fall. Wow, you have been busy here I see. I will catch up with the comments soon!!!!

Now, this is a great photo. It has all kinds of wonderful textures and colors. I like how you cropped it. Has a artsy look to it. I just want to touch it and feel the textures. Great job.
Kelly

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/18/2005
Thanks Kelly, and good luck with your wedding plans! And the business! No need to apologize, nobody can keep up with UF! I was glad they were down for a few days to catch up with my own stuff :) Take care, Ina

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/19/2005
Hi Mark, sorry that I have to reply to you here, on another picture thread. Thanks for your comment, the building in my "invisible" post is a historic Court House in Niagara on the Lake.
I don't see my own picture (http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=1012147). Where did you see it? It's not on my page! This is the latest bug. Maybe you can send Scarlett to eat those bugs!
Thanks very much for your comment, I have a number of pictures of Christmas lights with that building in the background, but I'm really curious where you saw my picture? I for one can't even link to the address - it takes me to the Home page. I think I'm going to take a break from UF until they fix it, maybe in a week or so - maybe...
Best regards,
Ina

Endre Novak   {K:12534} 12/19/2005

A classic Ina. I believe that you have photographed this perfectly. The composition leaves nothing to be desired. Full of rich textures and shapes. Well seen and presented as usual! )

Mark Longo   {K:12757} 12/19/2005
Gorgeous shot! There is great character not only in the well worn wall, but in the unusual positioning of the windows. This must be an old building indeed, and so full of character!

I think the very flat character of the wall and it's stones creates an interesting effect with the windows, which appear flat but are recessed into the wall, creating a sudden sense of depth. Also, the wreath hanging on the outside of the wall above the window gives another spot of depth to flat scene.

A very well composed arrangement of the windows and wall in the shot. Great stuff Ina!

Mark

Hi Ina. The link you gave me sends me right to the old house with the string of Christmas lights. It's a bug alright. I tried going back into your previous photos, and what happens is I get disconnected (twice).

Rashed Abdulla   {K:154604} 12/20/2005

Walter Scarella   {K:17720} 12/20/2005
Excellent Ina ! I like so much this composition, great sharpness and very saturated colours. Lovely the plant back to the glass ! My best Congratulations! I wish you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year..Your friend ....Walter

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/20/2005
Thanks for testing that link, Mark. Everything seems back to normal now. Thanks for your feedback! Ina

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 12/20/2005
Thanks Mark, I had doubts about posting this one, in the sense that it was a bit cliche: nice wall, old windows, I mean maybe a bit too quaint, I don't know. But then, because of the Christmas wreath, I decided to post it. But now I'm happy that I got a positive response :)

György Szönyi   {K:8347} 1/4/2006
A familiar building, very nicely captured again. The windows create good rhythm, thanks to the good crop. Gyuri

Mani Mobini   {K:1038} 1/9/2006
