About Japan is not a welfare state, and the government doesn't do much in the way of caring for those down on their luck. The result is a greater dependence on charities... and at least twice a year the schoolkids (well, mostly schoolgirls, because I guess it's harder to resist their pleas) are out on the streets collecting money. If you donate, you get a red feather to put in your lapel.

I like that you captured thier shawdows aswell in this shot, I also like that you captured the school crossing sign in the background, adds to the schoolchildren and street relationship. nice work!

This is an interesting photo Roger, and even moreso with your description. It would indeed be hard to resist these girls. I guess I would have a red feather every day!

Is this the missing image?

another great slice-of-life shot Roger, full of detail.

Well, who could resist the pleas of these little cuties? On the technical side, the subjects are backlit — always visually interesting to me — and yet their features are well-illuminated. The best of both worlds.
