I think the small amount of softness in this photo simply adds to the beauty of it. It is very captivating -- the subject and the way the subject is placed in the frame. Again, it is another person I'd love to know more about just by how you captured him in your lense. It is another great addition to your other amazing shots. I always feel stupid, as an amatuer (big time) making any comments about subjects and photos that are so superior to anything I could do, but I guess even comments from "morons" are nice. :-)

Jay, I'm typeless. Any sharpness that *may* be lost is overcome by the sheer emotional power of this image. You have captured this person with dignity and respect, showing a lighter and more meaningful representation of who to often would be captured in a suffering demeaning manner. IMO, nothing is more powerful than when a photographer can capture the essence of a man. If you did not do it here, you certainly captured a "perceived" essence of the man, but I suspect you have portrayed him perfectly. A favorite, thanks!

I just love this photo. The sparkle in the subject's eye, the wisps of hair, the lines on his face...it all tells such a story! Fantastic capture...great choice in b&w. without a doubt one of my favs.
