Wonderful shot Chris!! Beautiful colors, textures and view, excellent composition... capturing that piece of rock in the foreground gives this image tons of depth... well done!!! As for 2006: Ditto (again... ;-D) and we're going to make it a great one.... LOL!!!

Hi Chris. In my day it was always a stick o' rock...
I read a little into your "about", and from my point of view it's nice to see some familiar names around here. So many friends seem to have jumped ship over the last few weeks, for reasons I quite understand.
I've decided to stay, at least for the time being, as I don't think leaving would help anyone. I'll just try to keep my head down, my nose clean and see UF for what it is - a great community of amateur photographers. There I go ranting again...

In the last while, there have been changes. I will miss those with whom I had developed a UF friendship who seem to have left. I have been so busy personally in the last number of months that I have not been exposed to any of the politics or whatever. That is just as well; there is enough of that in other areas and this site is for enjoyment, not controversy. My UF activity has been limited because of other factors. Hoepfully, I will now have a chance to spend some more time again. However, my TO DO list seems very long at the moment. Oh well, we can only do what we can do.

I hope you had a great start to the New YEar Chris and I hope 2006 is a Happy one for you.
This is a very imposing image. I love the texturess and warm tones agaisnt the blue sky. Makes for super contrasts. As usual the details and clarity are wonderful all the way through the image and your chosen composition is exellent to give us the full effect of the awe of this place. A superb image.
