About This is a publicity shot of the writer/director/star of the movie I have been photographing. The challenge here was creating the effect. The background is a black tarp with holes cut into it. It is being hit with 2 1000 watt lights from behind. The lights have yellow and blue gels in front of them. I then filled the room with haze from a theatrical hazing machine.

I shot the model seperately and pasted him into the shot.

Very cool- would look cooler if you used some dramatic lighting hitting the man's face too. I like that backdrop. Bet you are having fun with this one!

Great special effect Mark. Tough to do. Wish you and your loved ones the very best in 2006, Happy New Year.

Thanks, Kay. I agree with you and just couldn't come up with anything I liked. I have a couple more I may post of this guy and one of the other actors that I used some more creative lighting techniques with. Keep watching!

That sounds like a lot of work. And a lot of lights. The lighting gives a wonderful effect. I would not have guessed that you posted the actor in after. He must think thjis is just terrific.
