Hi James, In essence, the comments I made with the previous shot do still apply, BUT! I think the vertical composition offers a lot more to the viewer, changing more to the photo than the aspect alone. The details in the snow are more distinguisheable, and the right bank of the river plays a more dominant role in the composition, diverting the attention from the issues I mentioned in my previous comment to you. I find it very interesting to observe how such relatively small issues can create such a huge difference. That applies to the composition, but probably also to my state of mind...
