About 12 Meter World's Regatta
Rhode Island Sound - Newport, RI

1/1250th - f/8 - iso100 - 28mm

A high contrast scene, even with the polarizer I still had hot spots on the sails. This was taken several seconds before the previous shot http://www.usefilm.com/image/1020393.html

Oh, the sheen on the mainsails is outstanding!
What's your crew position?

Chris Hunter   {K:25631} 1/3/2006
Thanks Paul, I was strictly an observer and photographer for this regatta. Having grown up in the sailing capitol of the world (Portsmouth & Newport, RI) I've been around it my whole life, but don't compete professionally.

Cheers,
Chris

Excellent wide angle shot ... I love the fact you can see for miles and miles

The glare on the 2nd boat is a little distracting, but considering the circumstances I think its warranted

Beautiful, just beautiful!!! It has a magnetic quality! You just want to get on one and go sailing!

Hi Chris,

BEAUTIFUL photograph here. I LIKE the hot spots on the sails, just seems to make this one even more attractive...to me anyway!!
WOW...and the reflections are nice, also, I like that the boat on the right side is only partially in the frame.

Fantastic capture, LOVE IT,
Lori :)
